How current is HCC Buddy's coding data?
This page is the receipt: the exact CMS editions in production right now, their effective windows, and what is already staged for the next fiscal year. Every code page and RAF calculation on this site links back here.

Mappings, RAF coefficients, and code descriptions are generated from the official CMS files above (never hand-typed), and CI guards fail the build when generated data drifts from source.
FY2027 is already staged: 238 new codes, validated
CMS posted the FY2027 ICD-10-CM files in July 2026. HCC Buddy's monitors flagged the drop, and the full set (tabular, index, addenda, and the PY2027 Initial ICD-10-CM mappings) was staged and validated on July 13, 2026: 238 new codes and 21 removed, reconciled against the official CMS delta files. It goes live automatically on October 1, 2026, the day it takes effect. Print code books for FY2027 will still be at the printer.
How the data stays current
Watch the source
Automated monitors check the CMS ICD-10 and risk-adjustment source pages every week and flag new file drops for staging.
Stage and validate
New files are staged and reconciled against the official CMS addenda before anything ships. The FY2027 set was validated at 238 new and 21 removed codes against the CMS delta files.
Flip on the effective date
The serving layer is fiscal-year-aware: every lookup is answered from the edition that is effective on that date, and the next edition takes over automatically at the boundary. No release-cycle lag.
Dated write-ups of every model and code-set change land on the CMS Watch news page as they happen.
