BillableMixed cellularity Hodgkin lymphoma, lymph nodes of inguinal region and lower limb
HCC Category Mapping
What This Code Means
A type of Hodgkin lymphoma with mixed cellularity affecting lymph nodes in the groin and lower leg areas.
Coding Tips
- •Confirm involvement is in inguinal region and/or lower limb lymph nodes
- •Document whether one or both lower extremities are affected for clinical clarity
Clinical Significance
Mixed cellularity Hodgkin lymphoma of inguinal and lower limb lymph nodes indicates involvement of groin and lower extremity lymph nodes. This is a less common presentation site for Hodgkin lymphoma overall but may be seen more frequently in mixed cellularity compared to nodular sclerosis. Inguinal lymphadenopathy from Hodgkin lymphoma must be distinguished from reactive causes, infections, and other lymphoma subtypes that commonly present in the groin.
Documentation Requirements
- ✓Pathology confirming mixed cellularity subtype
- ✓Physical exam and imaging documenting inguinal and/or lower limb lymph node involvement
- ✓Laterality documented
- ✓Distinction from intrapelvic nodes (deep pelvis vs superficial groin)
- ✓Complete staging workup
- ✓Treatment plan
